Architectural Planning and Conceptual Services
The Trinity High School STEM Career Center lays the foundation for an expanded academic offering, providing a dedicated STEM facility. The design will support program’s growth and reflect the institution’s long-term academic goals.
The design creates a prominent campus presence in Saint Matthews, establishing a landmark northern gateway. It features a mix of indoor and outdoor collaborative spaces that support project-based learning and foster adaptable environments for various educational needs. Additionally, sustainable elements, such as passive shading strategies and geothermal heating, are integrated to ensure long-term environmental benefits for Trinity High School's northern campus.

Francis Parker High School needed to add athletic spaces to their downtown campus with limited opportunities to expand their building’s footprint. This basement wellness center renovation will incorporate more athletic amenities to better serve the students on campus. With a phased approach to align with fundraising, the wellness center is now complete, and the neighboring gymnasium construction will begin soon.

Luckett & Farley provided campus master planning for the University of Louisville Foundation. The site is approximately 44 acres on the University of Louisville’s Belknap Campus (formally the site of Kentucky Trailer Manufacturing Company). The property will now house a research park, including both academic and private programs and activities. The research park will focus on technology, science and engineering for green technologies. In addition to research facilities, incubator space is available for start-up companies associated with the College of Business and the Speed School of Engineering.

Jefferson County Public Schools sought to combine two west end elementary schools, creating a community hub sharing amenities and its campus with the new Republic Bank Foundation YMCA to make it happen. The new elementary school will be 79,000 SF over two stories with a capacity to serve 650 students.

The ACC ESPN Network Studio was in response to launch the comprehensive linear and digital ACC Network in 2019. Luckett & Farley designed the television production facility to house all the equipment and personnel required to originate live programming.

The Commons at Helm Library is the complete renovation and transformation of the three-story Margie Helm Library at Western Kentucky University. The unique program considers the evolution of the library in current academia and rethinks the relationship between social and intellectual spaces in a larger campus ecosystem.

The removal and renovation of two major buildings within the scholastic core on Western Kentucky University’s campus were the catalyst for the Hilltop planning study. The study evaluated and assessed the pedestrian and vehicular circulation opportunities associated with the Hilltop, both a defining topographical character of the campus and the WKU scholastic services core. Addressing these building changes, Luckett & Farley developed a plan that will maintain a walkable campus, limit or remove vehicles, reduce traffic congestion and parking demand, minimize pedestrian and vehicular conflicts, and remove parking from the hill rerouted Hilltop Drive.

Luckett & Farley is providing architecture, engineering, and interior design services for the renovation of Phelps Stokes Chapel, a 20,518 SF, 2-story masonry structure. Originally constructed in 1904, the exterior envelope consists of brick with a stone water table, large ornamental wood windows, wood cornice, eaves, a shingle roof, and a large masonry and wood cupola housing numerous bells.

Luckett & Farley developed a master plan for Northern New Mexico College in order to capture a long-term vision for the college, looking ahead 10, 20, and even as far as 50 years into the future.
The need for the plan was generated when various sites were being considered for upcoming construction projects like student housing. The resulting plan consists primarily of a land use study with consideration given to current and projected trends in population and enrollment, as well as educational programs and activities.
The initial effort to begin the master plan included verification of the existing conditions, including campus boundaries, contours, existing buildings, paving, parking, roads, walks, and utilities. Additionally, the team identified adjacent properties for future acquisition that will be needed to realize the vision of the master plan and accommodate the projected growth and prosperity of the college.

The new $65 million University of Louisville’s Cardinal Stadium expansion further enhances fans’ experience. Over 10,000 additional stadium seats and 1,730 new sheltered loge seats with direct access to the interior loge-level club provide prime views of the game. With the additional stadium seats in the new upper seating bowl along the east side of the stadium, we were able to increase the total stadium seating capacity to approximately 53,600 seats.

Luckett & Farley developed a comprehensive program for the School of Dentistry Renewal Master Plan. This fast track project was a $43 million renovation of the 34-year-old, 200,000 SF teaching, clinical, and research facility located on the Health Sciences Campus. The newly modernized facility educates and trains dental students on the latest clinical procedures.
