ABOUT THIS PROJECT
In support of workforce development tied to the nearby KIA manufacturing facility, this training center was envisioned as a regional hub for advanced technical instruction. Designed and delivered through a design-build partnership, the project aimed to equip students and employees with the skills needed to thrive in modern industrial environments.
Luckett & Farley’s design solutions focused on flexibility, technology integration, and real-world application. The 70,000-square-foot facility includes classrooms and hands-on lab spaces dedicated to industrial systems technology, programming logic controller (PLC) systems, robotics, and machine tool technologies. Each space was tailored to support instruction in high-demand disciplines, offering a blend of traditional learning and experiential training.
To support both academic and community functions, the building also features a multi-purpose conference center capable of hosting up to 500 people, a media/resource center, and dedicated instructional support areas for faculty and staff. The facility serves as a critical link between education and industry bridging classroom learning with the evolving needs of advanced manufacturing employers in the region.
