ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Luckett & Farley designed zero-energy housing for Fort Campbell, the first of its kind on any military installation. The LEED® Platinum, four-bedroom 2,000 SF, energy-free duplexes generate as much electricity as they use over the course of a year. The project team was focused on reducing the energy usage by 50 to 75 percent while also generating power from a self-sufficient source.

The zero-energy homes are among the 521-unit Woodlands neighborhood that houses noncommissioned officers. Over 500 of the units are Energy Star® Green Homes. The design included compact fluorescent lighting, solar roof panels, and geothermal heat pumps. The units include a mix of four-bedroom duplex and single family homes. Additionally, the project included three new community centers to match individual neighborhood requirements.
