ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Emerson Park was designed by Luckett & Farley for Louisville Metro Parks as a new corner lot park in Louisville’s Schnitzelburg neighborhood. The park includes a small paved walking path, seating, and a bandstand for concerts and picnic activities for the historic German neighborhood.

The bandstand was designed to reflect the character of the old neighborhood and speak to the aesthetics of the old church near the park. The walking path layout creates a place for a dance floor in front of the new bandstand.

The master plan includes provisions for a new picnic pavilion and restrooms to serve the park and the adjacent community garden.
