A Homeplace Where Bourbon Remembers Its Story
Uncle Boojie's Distilling Company began with a 200-year-old family recipe and a belief in doing things the right way by hand, by heart, and by heritage. The Homeplace brings that belief into focus, offering a bourbon experience shaped by story, setting, and craft.
Located in Louisville’s Paristown neighborhood, the Homeplace transforms a modest masonry and metal building into a 4,500-square-foot destination for bourbon lovers, storytellers, and first-time visitors alike. The project reflects Uncle Boojie’s commitment to doing more than serving drinks. The project creates a space where guests are welcomed into the rhythm of the brand's history.
Luckett & Farley partnered closely with Uncle Boojie’s team to provide full architectural and engineering services. That included stabilizing the existing structure and shaping a new interior experience, with a kitchen, bar, and tasting room designed to support both personal rituals and shared gatherings. Inside, materials were selected for their texture, durability, and quiet beauty. Burled wood and unlacquered brass recall the patina of time. Oak floors and brick archways ground the space in warmth. A limestone fireplace anchors the tasting room while nodding to the Kentucky springs that shape the bourbon itself.
The space is designed to welcome and adapt. Operable glass walls open the building to the neighborhood, connecting the interior with the life of the street. The design allows the Homeplace to evolve with the day by hosting quiet pours, group tastings, or full-capacity events with equal ease.
The space was crafted for function and for memory. Guests draw their own bourbon straight from the barrel. They label their bottles by hand. They learn the story of Uncle Boojie's from the barrel folks who know it by heart.
Uncle Boojie's Distilling Company carries a legacy that began in the hills of Kentucky and deepened through the era of untaxed whiskey and Prohibition raids. The family’s 200-year-old recipe and early 20th-century whiskey-making stories, including a 1930 raid known as “The Great Pour Out”, form the soul of the brand. The Homeplace brings that story into physical form, offering a space where history, hospitality, and hand-crafted bourbon come together. The Homeplace holds history, presence, and a sense of belonging. It was built to last and built to welcome.
In the end, it’s a return to what matters: good whiskey, good company, and the stories we carry forward.
