About this project

Luckett & Farley provided architecture, full engineering, and interior design (to IHG standards) for a new 128 room, 5-story Extended Stay Candlewood Suites Hotel.

The guest rooms were designed to Candlewood Suites’ design standards, but the finishes were designed to Staybridge Suites’ design standards. Each room has a kitchenette, with either 1 or 2-bedrooms. This facility is somewhat unique because one of the main construction materials being used is a fairly new product called CLT Panels (Cross Laminated Timbers). This product was chosen because it offers the structural simplicity needed for cost-effective buildings, as well as benefits such as fast installation, reduced waste, improved thermal performance and design versatility. We also chose a mixture of locally-sourced stone, and various shades of stucco to help elevate the building’s aesthetics.

This was not a LEED-certified project; although our client hired us to design it as LEED Silver.
