ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Luckett & Farley provided full-service architectural, engineering, and interior design services for the development of construction documents and for construction administration for an entirely new campus for Home of the Innocents. The conceptual design was provided by another consultant.
Phase I of this project included the demolition of 15 acres of buildings, formerly with the Bourbon Stockyards, which had contaminated and hazardous materials.
The new campus contains two operating units: a pediatric convalescent center for children needing continuous nursing supervision and an emergency shelter for children temporarily without a home. The first phase of the project, completed in 2004, included eight interconnected structures and the overall site development at a cost of approximately $17 million. The second phase included five free-standing structures and associated site work.
